Groundwater Resource Zones over the Darwin Rural and Palmerston areas

This polygon spatial dataset represents 138 groundwater resource zones (GWRZ) within the Darwin Rural Water Control District (DRWCD) and includes the Palmerston locality. The zones include 2 areas that are subject to management through the Berry Springs and Howard Water Allocation Plans. The spatial dataset was created to support investigations for a better understanding of the use of groundwater in the area, in particular, the groundwater zones that do not have a current management plan. The groundwater resource zones details area applicable as at 30 August 2017 and is subject to change. The data may not reflect current water resource use estimates. The spatial data supports the accompanying report, A preliminary assessment of groundwater use in the unmanaged areas of Darwin Rural Water Control District and Palmerston Municipality.
