Stray Creek Catchment Vegetation Survey

This spatial dataset describes the mapped polygons for the vegetation survey of the Stray Creek catchment at a scale of 1:25 000. The Stray Creek sub-catchment is located approximately 200km south of Darwin and lies within the Daly Basin covering an area of approximately 1,218 km2. Thirty four vegetation communities are further described in the accompanying report. The objectives of the survey were to: - provide land managers, developers and government authorities with accurate data for which to base sound advice on land development conservation in the catchment; - improve our understanding of the nature and extent of significant vegetation communities; - provide baseline environmental data for ongoing monitoring and validate the existing surveys across the catchment.
