Southern Flying Fox Part B - Digital Soil Mapping & Crop Specific Land Suitability Assessment

Soil and Land Assessment of the Southern Part of Flying Fox Station for Irrigated Agriculture. Part B: Digital Soil Mapping and Crop Specific Land Suitability Assessment.
Department survey code ROPDSM_100 The field survey was undertaken at a mapping scale of 1:100,000.

This pixel based raster spatial dataset describes findings from a soil and land suitability investigation undertaken during 2016-2019 to assess irrigated agricultural potential on part of Flying Fox Station using digital soil mapping (DSM) methodologies. Land suitability class outcomes are presented for the 17 crop groups assessed. Digital soil mapping land suitability outcomes were produced in parallel with traditional land unit mapping and a general land capability assessment (see Southern Flying Fox Part A - Land Resources and General Land Capability). Outcomes are indicative of potential for agricultural development and management constraints across the study area. All limitations attached to a pixel are included within the spatial dataset.
