Range Land Systems Palmer Valley Station

A series of soil and land resource surveys were conducted between 1976 and 1991 in the Alice Springs region over 43 pastoral leases, some of which are now Aboriginal Land Trusts. All mapping was originally published in hard copy format and digitised into a GIS polygon spatial format between 2013 and 2018.

In 2020, a project was initiated to create consistent descriptive attributes for the spatial datasets and also update the mapping products.
