Vegetation Communities of Cobourg Peninsula

This is a compilation of several polygon spatial datasets and provides broad information on the vegetation map unit boundaries of Garig Gunak Barlu National Park, Northern Territory. The survey area, of 2029 km2, is located approximately 570 km, by road, north east of Darwin on the Cobourg Peninsula. The data is relevant for use at a mapping scale of 1:100,000.

In 2010, mangrove mapping was incorporated into the generalised vegetation polygons. The data represents a brief synopsis only and is not designed as an exhaustive treatise on the vegetation of Cobourg Peninsula. The vegetation descriptions and mapped polygons were obtained from the analysis of field plot data, various published reports and vegetation surveys.
