Northern Territory Geochronology Uranium-Lead (UPb) Dataset

This dataset comprises uranium-lead (U-Pb) age determinations (reported in millions of years) and isotope ratios for zircon and monazite from rocks from the Northern Territory. Supplementary lutetium-hafnium (Lu-Hf) and oxygen (O) isotope ratios are also provided for zircon from selected samples. The data are sourced from the Northern Territory Geological Survey (NTGS) and collaborating researchers and laboratories. This dataset comprises bibliographic references, analytical data and metadata, and pooled results for samples derived using U-Pb laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICPMS) and sensitive high resolution ion microprobe (SHRIMP) determination methods, and Lu-Hf-O laser ablation multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-MC-ICPMS) and thermal ionisation mass spectrometry (TIMS) determination methods. The public data is updated on an annual basis.
