Elsey Station Vegetation Survey

This polygon spatial dataset provides information on the vegetation community unit boundaries of Elsey Station, Northern Territory. The survey area of 5,270 km2 is located approximately 100 km south west of Katherine Township via the Stuart Highway and Roper Highway. The original mapping was undertaken by Ecostudy on behalf of Greening Australia and the Northern Land Council to assist the development of a Vegetation Management and Rehabilitation Plan. Elsey Station is now called Mangarrayi Aboriginal Land Trust. (NT Portion 5417) This department compiled the associated spatial data for the project and is the responsible agency for it's safe storage and dissemination. The original field survey was undertaken in 1993 at a mapping scale of 1:100,000. 27 vegetation communities are described based on 20m x 20m plots from 134 field inspection sites.
