Land Units Auvergne

This land resource polygon dataset is mapped at a survey scale of 1:100 000 and includes a description of the landforms, soils and vegetation over the Auvergne Pastoral Lease. The surveyed area of 4,260 km2 is located 350 km south west of Darwin and is located on the northern part of the Victoria River District, (VRD) Northern Territory. The objectives of the project are to map and describe the area and provide this information to the land manager, industry, government and other relevant stakeholders. This information is a supplement to the Land Resources of the Victoria River District (2012) and completes the land resource assessment of the district covering 24 properties. An additional dataset describes General Salinity Risk. The mapped areas display a general assessment of soil salinity risk and do not correlate directly with each land unit. Chapter 7.3 in the accompanying report should be read in conjunction with this dataset.
