Mount Todd Vegetation Survey

This polygon spatial dataset provides information on the vegetation map unit boundaries for the proposed Mt Todd (Batman) joint venture mine site and surrrounding area. (Vegetation Unit - A reasonably homogeneous part of the land surface, distinct from surrounding terrain with constant properties in landform and vegetation) The mapped area covers 167 km2 and is located approximately 40km from the town of Katherine. The original field survey was undertaken in 1989 at a mapping scale of 1:50 000. The aim of this survey was to provide baseline vegetation data to Kinhill Pty Ltd for a Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and to assist in mapping Gouldian Finch habitat within the area.
