Strahler stream orders over the Northern Territory, topographic scale data 250k

This polyline spatial dataset displays Stream Order over the Northern Territory using the Strahler hierarchical classification from the source (Stream Order 1) then downstream to the largest stream (Stream Order 7). A waterway with no tributaries is a first-order stream. Two first-order streams join to form a second-order stream and two second-order streams join to form a third-order stream and so on. The Stream Network line segments describe where water would flow according to a hydrological enforced 9 second digital elevation model at scale 1:250,000. The data was sourced from the Australian surface water hydrography geofabric data supplied by Commonwealth of Australia (Bureau of Meteorology). The Stream Order information were sourced from Commonwealth of Australia (Geoscience Australia) using a lookup table that was joined to the stream network.
